In Mozilla or Netscape 6+, when displaying PHP pages through SSL, I've been seeing corrupted
HTTP. Extra characters would creep into the HTTP headers and page body in about half of all
requests. The effect is that page images would not load, or that the page headers would be displayed
followed by the page HTML source. Before the "HTTP/1.1 200 OK" header a single line
containing the character "0" would appear. Lines containing a few hex characters would be
distributed throughout the page.
The problem was showing up in Apache/2.0.44, mod_ssl/2.0.44, OpenSSL 0.9.6b, PHP 4.1.2
Turning off persistent HTTP connections by doing a header("Connection: close"), seems to
fix the problem.
