to get apache 1.3.22 to work with php-3.0.8, php-4.0.6 and imap (imap-devel-2000c-15 from RPM) on
redhat-7.2, try doing
export LDFLAGS="-L/usr/kerberos/lib -lkrb5 -lgssapi_krb5 -lpam -lz -lssl"
before compiling apache and both php modules.
