I have successfully compile php with imap under RedHat 7.1. This is my step:
1. export CFLAGS="-I/usr/include/imap"
2. export LDFLAGS=-lc-client
3. ./configure --enable-versioning --with-apxs=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs --with-mysql=/usr/local
--enable-tracks-vars --with-imap --with-xml --with-gd --with-jpeg-dir=/usr --with-kerberos
--with-openssl
4. make
5. make install
