If you use option 2), the output won't be saved in the optional string.
For example:"exec("cmd /c dir", $dir_result);
$dir_result will be empty.
However, this works:
$dir_result=system("cmd /c dir");
Hm.. seems PHP crashes when a exe-file is tried to be launched. Only restarting Apache can help
then.
