Some have contributed ways of getting the Unix time from databases. In MySQL, there is a field type
called datetime. It's basicly an string looking like this: 0000-00-00 00:00:00
One way of doing this in MySQL is this:
SELECT UNIX_TIMESTAMP(timefield) FROM aNiceTable;
I don't know if this works in PostgreSQL.
