Warning:fopen("ftp://etc.com/file_you_want", "r") -
Bad file descriptor ...
This warning is intermitant, and is fixed by using the IP of etc.com,
E.G.
fopen ("ftp://127.0.0.1/file_you_want",
"r") may give ... :-)
DNS is a problem. This sucks.
