There's another workaround for the problem with OpenSSL on Red Hat 9 as described by
"adolfo dot garcia at NOSPAM dot uservers dot net", where you get the message
"krb5.h: No such file or directory" during the make command.
You need to have kerberos installed for this to work. If you have the standard krb5 development
library installed (e.g. krb5-devel-1.2.7-10 from an RPM), check the directory /usr/kerberos/include.
That should contain your missing krb5.h file. Then do the following:
export CFLAGS="-I/usr/kerberos/include/"
./configure --with-openssl
make
make install
This should fix the problem. Of course, specify whatever other options you want for configure.
NOTE: You may also need to run "make clean" in your PHP src directory to get this to work
if you've been messing around with this for a while. I noticed a couple of times I ran
configure and it didn't pick up the CFLAGS I'd specified (it also didn't pick up the
fact that I specified using pgsql instead of mysql). I'm guessing the "make clean"
removes cached config files.
