I have found that using the ob_gzhandler or any other gzip method of serving pages can cause
problems under Internet Explorer 6, it seems intermitent and is most definately a bug in the
Microsoft browser, it does not show up on all gzip'd pages but I have noticed it on pages that
are dynamically generated that change size quite often such as our incoming orders screen which can
show anything from a simple "no orders in system" msg to 100+ rows of data.
The browser requests the page, Apache serve's the page and completes its task but IE sits there
as if it hasn't had all its data yet....world is spinning forever!
I have reported the bug to those Microsoft numpties but no doubt they will continue to abuse the
standards laid out in HTTP1.1 as they do with everything else they touch.
Has anyone else had this problem or found a work around?
