A little bit of a pitfall. Using PHP4, it appears that when using strings as keys, if I do an
array_merge, I end up with the array being double size. It now contains both the string keyed, and
a complete set of all the array elements with numeric keys. Then if I do another array_merge, I end
up with the entire thing doubled in size. Then four times in size. Something to beware of.
