Another user suggests using '[]' in a name for HTML-elements ... ie:
<select name=state[] multiple>
Don't learn from this, as it's invalid HTML - though most PHP-people seem to use this
'ileagal' syntax. According to the HTML-standard - as recommended by W3C - brackets cannot
be used for ID's and NAME's.
One should therefore avoid using them for checkboxes and multiple-selects and the likes. Although it
may seem a little naive, one could fear that browser-makers would change practice and let their
browsers support the standard tomorrow :)
Anyway: If we don't code to the standards, why should they do so?
And if we and they shouldn't ..... why write standards in the first place? ;o)
/Best regards
