Note Submitter: saryon at unfix dot org ---- because i thought this function would actually work on sockets, i thought: let's use this function to make sure that the listening on a certain socket is timeouted after an X period.....guess i was wrong: this function _does_not_ work on sockets which connect to a port you set up using the sockets-family of functions. it only seems to work for connections using fsock and fopen. (and functions which are derived from these)
