If you want to output day-names in a different language you don't have to use strreplace. Use
this way:
german example:
$arrDay = array ("Sonntag", "Montag", "Dienstag",
"Mittwoch", "Donnerstag", "Freitag","Samstag");
echo "heute ist ".$arrDay[date(w)];
