Installing PHP4 as module in Apache2 on Win32! I read a lot of notes bout installing PHP4 as a module in Apache2 on Win2k/XP (Servers) but some of them were quite confusing. So heres the simple way to do it: Supposed you installed everything correctly (Apache and PHP), copy php4apache2.dll (from the sapi folder) and php4ts.dll to the modules folder in the Apache directory. Then open the httpd.conf file (conf folder) and paste these lines into it: LoadModule php4_module modules/php4apache2.dll AddType application/x-httpd-php .php If you want Apache to parse suffixes like php3 etc. add them seperated by space to the end of the AddType line! Furthermore, in case you use index.php files search for: DirectoryIndex index.html index.html.var and add: index.php (resp. index.php3 etc.) to the end! Ok, we`re half way done. Now copy the php.ini-dist file from your php directory to the Windows directory (i.e. c:\WINDOWS or c:\WinNT). Rename it to php.ini and edit the line: extension_dir = ".\" to extension_dir = "x:\php4\extensions\" with x and php4 being the path to your PHP4 installation. Now, save everything, restart Apache2 and be all happy. Hope that saved some folks some headache. cu ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/install.apache2.php Edit -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=edit+36502 Delete -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+36502&report=yes Reject -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=reject+36502&report=yes Search -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
