You shoud note that the bitwise operators do not always make an implicit type cast or at least I do
not understand the bitwise or of two strings.
echo "33"|"55"; // 77 -> what the hell is that?
echo "33"|55; // 55 -> ok
echo 33|"55"; // 55 -> ok
echo 33|55; // 55 -> ok
echo (int)"33"|(int)"55"; // 55 -> ok
