I noticed there was at least one mention/question about a way to show the progress of a server side
task. I was reading through the manual looking for similar information, and believe I have found
it. Based on the techniques used in the previous comments/discussion, I have written a class for a
php progress bar, based on the hacks/methods shown here (including javascript object updating,
forcing IE to flush its buffer, etc). If you are in need of such a class please download mine and
give it a try. I do not have a host that supports php, so I cant post an example, but an example is
included in the tarball:
http://bellsouthpwp.net/b/u/burn03/phpProgBar1.tar.gz
Its not perfect yet, but it works in current browsers. If you use this in any way, especially if
you enhance it, PLEASE share them with me! Same goes for any bugs or browser-specific issues you
find.
Thanks
