If for some reason you don't want to or can't recompile PHP with the exif option enabled,
you can use the library at this address: http://www.offsky.com/software/exif/index.php
to let you parse the exif data from images.
This library also does a better job at deciphering what the values mean for the various tags, and it
will correctly parse the manufacturer specific tags found in the MakerNote section of the SubIFD.
