In the UK, working on world-user scripts. Servers on diverse timezones (BST/EDT/PDT/MEST)...
$nowgmt=strtotime("NOW GMT");
for interntal calculations is a life-saver, but bear in mind clock-skew problems mentioned
elsewhere.
