I just find out that if you opens up a file in append mode, i.e. fopen("file.txt", "a"), you are guarantee write access to the file. And if you have 2 or more processes appending to that file at the same time, then good luck. It seems like there is no locking feature implemented when you use append mode. It takes me forever to find this out when part of my log files appears to be out of order. ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.fopen.php Edit -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=edit+36851 Delete -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+36851&report=yes Reject -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=reject+36851&report=yes Search -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
