To come back on the two word directory rename not working:
Instead of using: rename("c:/program files/test/test.txt", "c:/program
files/test.csv")
you can use the old DOS format name to get to the specific file in paths like these.
rename("c:/progra~1/test/test.txt","C:/progra~1/test/test.csv")
all will go fine.
Just remember all long filenames, including the ones with spaces and special characters in it, are
also there in the 8.3 format you were used to using DOS, and can be handled as such.
Safest bet would be to perform a dir command in a dos box, to verify the 8.3 name for directories.

Michel
