The solution posted earlier
( <?php require_once($_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] . '/subdir/file.php'); ?> )
is only a solution if you have access to the actual server root (i.e. /var/www/html).
If you are working under a user directory ( /home/your_user/public_html ) for instance, this will
not work
