curlee at mindspring dot com, array index iterator is unnecessary and that false/true checking is
also kind of strange. Here is a much simpler solution:

$handle = opendir($dir);
while ( $file = readdir($handle) ) {
$files[] = $file;
}
foreach ( $files as $filename ) {
echo $filename . '<br />';
}
?>
