In the case of the example above...
/* $result = ( $expression ? $return_if_true : $return_if_false ) */
I lost a lot of hair on this one. If $expression is something like:
$a>1 and $a<10,
eg: $result = ( $a>1 and $a<10? 'yes' :'no' )
it will return true or false (0,1)), rather than the values (yes,no) you want.
