ZLIB is very useful for compressing your PHP scripts AND it can also be used with base64_encode to encrypt your code. It offers smaller file sizes AND it is harder to decipher your code. The only drawback is that if you are distributing your script(s), the end user does NOT always have ZLIB installed. To see a demo of what your code looks like when encrypted AND then compressed with ZLIB have a look at: http://www.codelock.co.nz/demov2/codelock_encseg.php (choose strength=strong) If you want a basic way of encrypting your scripts that can be run on all installations of PHP (even without ZLIB), you could try using base64_encode encryption. You can also see how to encrypt your scripts using base64_encode only (without using ZLIB - choose strength=normal) at the above link. Base64_encode is more cross compatible with other users default PHP installations, but it is easy to decipher. ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.zlib.php Edit -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=edit+37869 Delete -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+37869&report=yes Reject -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=reject+37869&report=yes Search -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
