THis is regarding the notes given by simonc no spam at linux mail org 13-Nov-2003 02:19 I executed the following code on both Linux and Windows platforms. PhP version (4.3) The local variable $foo is a reference to $_SESSION. <?php session_start(); $_SESSION["foo"] = 5; $foo = $_SESSION["foo"]; $foo = 2; echo $_SESSION["foo"]; echo "<hr>"; echo $foo; ?> on Windows I got output as 5 - 2 i.e $_SESSION["foo"]; do not change while on Linux I got output as 2 - 2 i.e $_SESSION["foo"]; did changed, so now The local variable $foo is a reference to $_SESSION["foo"]. Hope it helps..........
