note 38024 added to language.variables.scope

I have a problem with variables..in php 4.3.3... the error is " [Thu Dec 4 22:22:48 2003] [error] PHP Notice: Use of undefined constant nick - assumed 'nick' in /usr/local/www/data-dist/clienti/ingashka.ro/jos2.php on line 14 " I have a variable $stat which is the result of the interogation of the database...There is $stat['nick'] and $stat['id']..and so on... on every page I have the same interogation, i reinitialize the values for $stat..why does this error??? 'nick' is the field from the database...
