<p>int protocol should be used with getprotobyname... For a while I kept trying
socket_create (AF_INET, SOCK_STREAM, TCP);
then I figured out it should be
socket_create (AF_INET, SOCK_STREAM, getprotobyname("TCP"));
Hope this saves someone else the time I wasted...
