Since this cost me several hours:
Before you wonder why you're merged / updated .mo file won't work or if you encounter
'mysterious' behaviour of your gettext environment (wont translate, translate sometimes
only, ...)
Try the following:
Restart your webserver!!!
Especially if PHP runs as an Apache module, ... just restart the server...
