Do NOT call the date() function in multiple time for a ONE date-time.
For bad example:
$today = mktime (0,0,0,date("m") ,date("d"), date("Y"));
If current date-time is 1999-12-31 23:59:59.999..., first date("m") returns
"12", but second date("d") and third date("Y") might return
"01" and "2000"! If so, value of the $today is UNIX timestamp at 2000-12-01
00:00:00.00.
