mysql_result is a much quicker route for replacing mysql_num_rows. For example:
$blah=mysql_num_rows(mysql_query("SELECT * FROM blah WHERE id=blah"));
Instead of using that, you can use the following query to get the same result, but in a much faster
script execution time:
$blah=mysql_result(mysql_query("SELECT COUNT(*) FROM blah WHERE id=blah"),0);
