Actually, the above not is incorrect. If you call fp($filehandler) when the pointer is still in the
beginning of a file, it will return 0 - not 1. after have read one byte, it will return 1, because
the next read/write will occur on this offset. So, after reading/writing 1024bytes, it will return
1024, which will also be the the next byte it will read/write. However it will be the 1025th byte
read.
