If you want more accuracy, you can use bcadd() on the two values. There is an alternative for you
bcmath deprived people though... concat.
Look at the following:
$temp = explode(" ", microtime())
$time_concat = $temp[1] . substr($temp[0], 1);
$time_bcmath = bcadd($temp[1],$temp[0],8);
$time_concat == $time_bcmath
