The docs aren't exactly correct, on linux, sleep() acts like the libc sleep() call. (probably
because php's sleep is wrapper to this function)
Description (from man 3 sleep)
sleep() makes the current process sleep until X seconds seconds have elapsed or a signal arrives
which is not ignored.
So if you have a pcntl_signal() handler installed for say SIGTERM, then sleep will end as soon as
the signal is received, or X seconds are up, whichever comes first. This was kind freaking my out
why my sleep was getting skipped after issuing a kill signal to a daemon that I wrote.
