I wrote a php irc client using fsockopen() and i have a lot of users now (more than 600 max
php-chat-users at the same time and 900 max total). I am not really sure, that anyone needs ircg or
smartirc. The real problems in writing HTML IRC Client are not server-side, err. not in
client-server connectivity. fsockopen, fgets and split (and/or eregi) are quite enough for writing
both irc client for users and php-bots for specific purposes. I did it.
If u need some help, mail me - dzver at gmx dot net.
