This manual page says that require_once et al no longer point to function main as of PHP 4.3.2.
However, both in the version of PHP 4.3.4 that I have on my PowerBook G4 ("PHP 4.3.4 Entropy
Release 1" from www.entropy.ch) and in the version of PHP 4.3.4 we compiled on our FreeBSD x86
server, it still happens.
If I create a one-line PHP file called test.php and it contains this line:
require_once 'included_file.php';
where "included_file.php" does not exist, then I get the following errors:
Warning: main(included_file.php) [function.main.html]: failed to open stream: No such file or
directory in /path/to/test.php on line 1
Fatal error: main() [function.require.html]: Failed opening required 'included_file.php'
(include_path='.:/usr/local/php/lib/php') in /path/to/test.php on line 1
