I had problems on several systems with imagecreatefromstring(...) function :(
e.g. RedHat 9, PHP 4.3.4, GD 2.0.x problem:
when I tried to call imagecreatefromstring function php caused apache's process crash,
I've test this on 5 systems - on two of them it was working without problems - on remains three
systems same crash
I'm sure that string is correct (and in jpeg format)
