<?php ftp_exec($this->_connection,"QUIT"); ?>
should be replaced by:
<?php ftp_raw($this->_connection, "QUIT"); ?>
because ftp_exec() will send "SITE QUIT" which has almost no effect on many servers.
ftp_raw() will send the "QUIT" command without the often unsupported "SITE "
command... So it may leave the connection open if "SITE QUIT" is not supported by the
remote FTP server...
