This function shoul either be said deprecated, or should be supported and explicitly said as being
an alias of the supported ftp_quit($ftpsession) function.
After all, FTP is defined with the QUIT term, not CLOSE, and there's no corresponding
ftp_open() ...but ftp_connect(...).
There's little interest of such API, and if it's really internal it should better be
excluded from documentation or said "deprecated".
There are too many PHP functions listed in the documentation that are simply aliases. Let's
merge their documentation pages in a single one that lists the prefered name and lists some known
legacy aliases.
