Note Submitter: bulanel@room666.biz ---- If you your apache is using more than 1024 fd per child(that will happen if there are more than 1024 virtuals and you have at least 1 log file per virt;1024 is usually the default FD_SETSIZE) and you are doing something like: $fd = fopen("www.gigel.com","r"); then is posible that fopen it will hang (waiting to return from select); The fix is to recompile the kernel with bigger FD_SETSIZE and change the include file that have it(/usr/src/sys/types.h in FreeBSD, /usr/include/linux/posix_types.h or /usr/include/bits/typesizes.h in Linux) and ... recompile php
