The best way to do this is to use it only if you are having troubles.
Normally, a:
"or die("Error preforming action");"
bit of code should follow your call to the db. If you come accross the message, and want to find
out what it means, then comment out the "or die()" part (making sure to properly place
your ";") Then on the following line put:
print(mysql_error());
and that should tell you what the problem is. Then when you have finished fixing the problem,
remove the print statement, and uncomment the "or die()"
