Why isn't there a configuration option which could be set in PHP.INI to specify where MIB files
are installed?
It should default to C:\PHP\extras\mibs where they are normally installed by default (with PHP5).
I can't see any point why one needs to use \USR\MIBS on all Windows drives... If this comes
from a simple port of a Linux/Unix source, this is stupid as well on these systems to require that
MIB files be necessarily located at /usr/mibs. If so, what happens on VMS? Does the MIB library
requires to be installed on the concealed device named SYS:[USR.MIBS] with that same directory
structure?
Don't assume that every system can create symbolic links where ever they want in the
filesystems hierarchy, and add the patch that allows to the MIB library to be configured with a path
setting, which can then be configured in the mibs module for PHP.
Note also that Windows NT/2000/XP already have another repository for precompiled MIB files. Why
can't we use it to walk on SNMP? Do we need to use the badly supported (and in my opinion badly
designed and slow) Win32 API module for PHP?
