A slight improvement on the pattern mentioned in the previous comment:
"^[a-zA-Z0-9_\.]+@[a-zA-Z0-9_\.]+\.[a-zA-Z]{2,4}$"
This allows the user or the domain to contain numbers, but mandates that the username have at least
one letter, plus it mandates that the last element of the domain name have 2-4 letters (.com, .org,
.uk, .info, etc.).
