Installing php4 on windows 2000 (and other NT based) with apache2 - the minimum: 1. Go into the apache2 main/root directory (e.g. C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache2) and put here the php.ini file. 2. Go into the modules directory and create here new folder named 'php'. 3. Copy into .../modules/php/ directory all dll's needed by php: php4apache2.dll, php4ts.dll and all extensions you need, for example php_pgsql.dll. 4. Modify httpd.conf - add lines LoadModule php4_module modules/php/php4apache2.dll AddType application/x-httpd-php .php 5. Modify php.ini extension_dir = "./modules/php/" 6. Start apache server ! As you can see - everything is placed in the apache directory, no dll's go to the windows system directories (brrr !), no absolute paths in the php.ini configuration file ! Now you can move all the apache directory in some other place and at most you have to change httpd.conf file, nothing else ! ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/install.apache2.php Edit -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=edit+41035 Delete -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+41035&report=yes Reject -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=reject+41035&report=yes Search -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
