sorry to drag this thread on, but i can't bear to see inaccuracies posted on the comments.

This is simply wrong. The for() loop will exit as soon as $found evaluates to false,
making 'anonymous's substite code logically equivalent to Jazep's.
Additionally, anonymous implies that there is a syntax error in Jazep's code which is also
wrong. Anonymous may have meant that there is a *logic* error, but i believe this is also wrong.
I have experienced the same problem Jazeps did, and I found his workaround very helpful.
In a perfect information-world, all three of us would see this the same way and then the helpful
moderators would remove these last two (3?) comments.
