This is about putting PHP.INI somewhere else than into %SYSTEMROOT when using the Apache2 webserver:
You might want to do this, when you e.g. run several instances of Apache/PHP for testing or
development reasons or when you mind having such an important file in the %SYSTEMROOT-Bermuda
Triangle.
Just put e.g.
SetEnv PHPRC E:/PHP
into your httpd.conf.
Since httpd inherits the environment, you can also set an environment variable e.g. in windows (or
in a .bat-file from which you start apache) called PHPRC and then add the following to your
httpd.conf:
PassEnv PHPRC
It is important to know, that you should not have a trailing slash in your path and that the name of
the php.ini is not part of the path. So your ini-file needs to be named php.ini.
BUT!!! this works only with PHP as CGI, because the SAPI-version ignores PHPRC. But for testing and
development this is not such a problem.
