It should be noted that to use curl with https you must make sure that (lib)curl was configured with
the --with-ssl=/path-to/(open)ssl AND that apache is running with SSL support (mod_ssl). If both of
these aren't done you will get an error saying 'libcurl was built with SSL disabled, https: not supported!' This may seen obvious to some but thought it
warranted a note.
