I tried installing php-5.0.0b2-Win32 under Apache 2.0.48 on Windows XP SP1 and was getting repeated
errors "Could not find php4apache2.dll"
I tried everything that has been suggested till now. Copied all php4apache2.dll, php4apache.dll and
php4ts.dll to all possible directories where they might be looked up. But yet it didnt work. When I
tried installing it as CGI it worked but was giving Error 500.
So then I tried "php -i" on the command line and saw that there was an error produced due
to some inability to find "iconv.dll". I looked around and it was present in the
'c:/php/dll' directory. So I simply copied it to 'c:/php' and restarted the
Apache Server and it worked.
I don't know what's causing that error, but even while installing PhpEdit I was getting
the same error about "iconv.dll"
Also, surprisingly, though its a php5.0 distribution the dll files accompanying it had php4.0 names.
Hope this helps someone.
