If you wanted to read the files off the hard drive and print them to the browser formatted in HTML
you could do something like this:
$files =
ls; // shell out and run the ls command (unix only)
$array = split("\n", $files);
$count = count($array);
for ($i=0; $i<=$count; $i++)
{
echo "$array[$i]\n"; // add appropiate HTML tags here
}
