If getlastmod() doesn't work, there is another possibility to output the last modification.
You can use the function filemtime() (description: http://de.php.net/manual/de/function.filemtime.php
(german)), which returns the timestamp of the last modification.
e.g., you may use this:
<?php
// outputs s.th. like this: 11 February 2004
echo date("d n Y", filemtime("index.php"));
?>
I found this out as I tried to use getlastmod() but it didn't work...
Have a lot of fun
