note 43251 rejected from ref.uodbc by nlopess

Note Submitter: s.suhl@assenmacher.net ---- Hi there, just installed php 4.3.x with odbc via iodbc. iodbc uses freetds to access mssql-server. I know that freetds do not support cascading queries, cause old query is pending if same connection is used. Geez, needed a half day to find it out! My real problem is that the errorstrings returned by odbc_error and odbc_errormsg are not plain text?! Here is an example what I get, if I try to run a second query on the same connection while first query is still pending: odbc_error = 'Xo@X' odbc_errormsg = 'dO%@21èÊÿ¿J¾@àY%@21Ëÿ¿Ê½@(ü-3N' normally odbc_errormsg should return something like 'query pending'. what's wrong? Is it something with missing locale files (cause nothing was installed by those tarballs)? Or is it something mssql<->freetds?? some sys-specs: p4 cel. 2.4Ghz, gnu linux 2.6.x, apache2, php 4.3.x, newest iodbc and freetds (15th June 2004). connecting to a w2k mssql server...
