----
it appears the first code sample for defining an array here was wrong - it needs a ; on the end :
<?php
$fruits = array (
"fruits" => array("a" => "orange", "b" =>
"banana", "c" => "apple"),
"numbers" => array(1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6),
"holes" => array("first", 5 => "second", "third")
) ; // notice the ; here, it is not featured on the example
?>
strange - but this is the only way I could evade the parsing errors ....
(linux, apache, php 4.3.2 that is)
might help someone
